How can we say that god loves the way people of opposite sexes love each other and bless it, but not say the same about people of the same sex? What if being in a same sex relationship helps two gay people serve God and his people on earth? What if that's what they needed... to have the stress of feeling outcast removed by love in order to feed the poor or care for the sick. I can see that being gay is wrong if it causes you to sin... but what if that is reinforced by people seeking personal justification by calling them sinners and not allowing them to do God's work. We have a hard enough time doing Jesus' work, but the cast people away because we think we read something a certian way. I know far to many gay people who don't go to church, not because they are sinners, but because others have made them to feel like sinners. Pushing people away from christ because of a biological circumstance (not a 'lifestyle choice') seems to be a grave misunderstanding of God's word.
Peace be with you!
Jordan

I have been searching the WWW for an application t...

I have been searching the WWW for an application to the 114 Convention and I cannot find one. It is not the painful fault of someone that is gay, and they should stop being condemned for the way God made them. This is my opinion. I also believe that God will make the hard decisions for everyone. All that we should concentrate on is the 2 laws that Jesus gave us: "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself and thou shalt love the Lord w/ all you heart, soul and mind ...ON THESE TWO COMMANDMENTS, HANG ALL THE LAWS AND PROPHETS!" I do not worry or fret about my beloved Episcopal Church. It is in God's hands. I might however tell you "higher being", that you might want to stop the "blessing of the animals" (which I dearly love)if you are not going to bless the gay unions. It just seems a little hypocritical to me. It's been very tiring with Legislative Committee hearings and meetings. Not much substantive can be reported to date as the "hot button" issues of B-033 and related resolutions are still working their way through committee. The next 2-3 days will more than likely see these move to the table for discussion and debate in both Houses. Stay tuned. The Program, Budget. and Finance Committee has their work cut out and the issue of the 2010-2012 Budget will be a difficult one.

Bp Lambert
